Dave Clark
With over 40 years of experience in the insolvency field, Dave is a co-founder of Clark Business Recovery. Starting his career in 1986, he honed his skills with several large and medium-sized practices before establishing his own practice in 2007. As a licensed Insolvency Practitioner with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Dave has a wealth of expertise in all areas of insolvency, specialising in advising owner-managed businesses.
His goal is clear: to make Clark Business Recovery the first choice for accountants and business advisers seeking trusted insolvency advice for their clients. With his extensive knowledge and practical expertise, Dave offers reliable, insightful solutions that help businesses navigate financial difficulties and emerge stronger.
Ben Ramsay
Ben Ramsay has over 20 years of expertise in insolvency, having worked with both independent firms and national companies. His extensive experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by businesses at all levels, from small, owner-managed businesses to large, trading national companies. He delivers effective, strategic solutions tailored to the specific needs of each client.
His expertise extends across a wide range of industries, including working with several football clubs facing financial difficulty. With a proven track record of managing complex insolvency situations, Ben is committed to providing clear, actionable advice to help businesses navigate financial challenges.
Phil Clark
After graduating from Leeds Trinity University with a degree in Business with Sport & Leisure, Phil joined Clark Business Recovery as a trainee administrator. During his university years, Phil gained invaluable experience working part-time for Clark Business Recovery and another medium-sized insolvency practice in Leeds.
After passing the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency Exams in 2012, Phil went on to pass the Joint Insolvency Examination Board exams in 2014, solidifying his expertise in the field. As a licensed Insolvency Practitioner with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Phil is committed to delivering professional, tailored advice to businesses and individuals in financial distress, ensuring that each client receives the best possible solution to their challenges.
Dan McLaughlin
Dan has over 15 years’ experience working within the financial sector having held positions at independent firms, national companies and global organisations giving him a vast array of knowledge when dealing with challenges facing all types of businesses and industries.
Having worked within asset finance, the banking sector and insolvency this has provided him with the insight and understanding when it comes to dealing with all aspects of business restructuring and recovery.
Dan prides himself on being approachable, honest and providing a tailored solution to any situation that he is faced with.
David Hines
David began his insolvency career in 1998 as a trainee administrator. He spent his early years working predominantly in personal insolvency before widening his skillset into corporate insolvency around 12 years later.
David sat and passed the Joint Insolvency Examination Board Personal Insolvency examination in 2018.
David started working as an insolvency manager at Clark Business Recovery Limited in March 2020 and with over 20 years’ experience in insolvency, his knowledge and depth of insight has proven to be an asset to the company and his colleagues. On a day-to-day basis he takes a hands-on approach to casework and is responsible for the management of a wide array of insolvency appointments from start to finish.
